Online Skills Workshop: Science Communication on Social Media
- 05.12.2025 (09:00-12:30)
- 12.12.2025 (09:00-12:30)
Description:
Science communication has gained recognition among researchers, higher education institutions, as well as funding organizations, especially due to societal challenges such as the COVID pandemic and climate change. This workshop provides an introduction to how early career researchers can use social media to present themselves to the public and effectively reach a variety of audiences. Every medium and every target group has certain requirements for the design of communication, and the better we take these into account, the better we can get our messages across.
The seminar supports you with the following contents, among others:
- Which role do I want to play in my online presence?
- Communicating concise, intelligible, and purposefully
- Social media platforms and their peculiarities
In this workshop we will look at the basics and tricks for successful online communication. Use the opportunity and implement what you have learned during the first workshop day in your own social media post. We will provide personalized feedback and tips on workshop day 2
