Compensations for disproportionate committee work by women - submissions as of now
Info taken from: Kompensation für überdimensionale Gremienarbeit (uni-graz.at)
In summer 2020, the pilot project for a compensation model for disproportionate committee work and tsking over of functions by women was launched.
Subject of the project:
The necessary increased involvement of women in university decision-making processes (among other things, through equal representation in committees), together with the underrepresentation of women in higher (academic) career levels, entails that female academics spend more time on commissions and committees than their male colleagues.
This pilot project offers compensation for this: the female scientists who are most burdened by committee work and functions (those without compensation) will receive rewards, namely research leave or temporary personnel support (student assistants or project assistants).
We survey participation in committees and functions in the past two years in order to identify the female persons most burdened in this period.
If you assume that you belong to this group, we invite you to fill out the form linked here and send it to Barbara Hey barbara.hey(at)uni-graz.at with the subject "Compensation model" by Feb 15 2023.
In the form you will also find more detailed information on the functions relevant for this pilot project and the exact procedure.
We appreciate your participation - both in shaping our university and in this pilot project!
