Exciting online events from Postdoc Appreciation Week Germany

Logo der PAW Deutschland

Check out the programme and register: Sept 16-20, 2024

Inspired by the celebration of the Postdoc Appreciation Week in the USA and the UK, the PAW Germany coordination team invited researchers and research institutions, postdoc coordinators and research administrators all over Germany to help create a special program, events and a social media campaign to honor the incredible work of postdocs! The initiative was well taken and colleagues and postdoc networks all over the country quickly put together a great program with a wide range of topics – most of them online and open for attendees from any institution in Germany (and bordering countries!). See full programme: EVENT LIST 2024 – Postdoc Appreciation Week Germany (paw-germany.de)

Workshops such as:

The what, why & how of outreach, science communication, public engagement

In this workshop we introduce some key concepts and modern standards of strategic public engagement. You will also be directed to resources and materials that will be useful for your own future public engagement practice. Using best practice, we discuss how public engagement cannot only be helpful for a scientific career, but also fun. And finally, we will show you some of the support possibilities at the University of Tübingen for your own project ideas and for your science communication.

Career Paths to a Professorship

The career goal "professorship" can be achieved in many different ways today. Academics should therefore inform themselves early on about the best path for them. Participants get an overview of the academic qualifications required to become a professor in Germany and the different paths that can lead to a professorship. The seminar also covers some legal requirements for the selection process for professorships at German universities.

Black Box Berufung
