Anyone who experiences sexualized harassment can quickly get help on the premises of the University of Graz in acute situations
LUIS*A is here - now also on the campus of the University of Graz. The City of Graz’s campaign against sexual harassment and violence, which was launched in bars in 2019, is now offering rapid and uncomplicated protection to anyone affected by sexualized harassment on campus for the first time at an Austrian university.
On June 1, 2023, the first "LUIS*A spot" will be opened in the University Library (UB) at the University of Graz as part of a press conference. Trained staff there help those affected in acute situations in a targeted manner. Sexual harassment does not stop at universities either. In order to take action against this and to prevent attacks as far as possible, a sharper perception is required. For this reason, the Working Group for Equal Opportunities (AKGL) at the University of Graz, in cooperation with the women's advice center TARA, developed the "LUIS*A on Campus" concept. They were actively supported by the Coordination Office for Gender Studies and Equal Opportunities, the ÖH and the City of Graz. The Rectorate also encourages employees to become part of the initiative.

LUIS*A ist da – jetzt auch am Campus der Uni Graz. Die Kampagne der Stadt Graz gegen sexuelle Belästigung und Gewalt, die 2019 in Lokalen gestartet wurde, bietet nun erstmals auch an einer österreichischen Universität allen Personen, die am Campus von sexuellen Übergriffen betroffen sind, rasch und unkompliziert Schutz. Am 1. Juni 2023 wird an der Uni Graz im Rahmen einer Pressekonferenz der erste „LUIS*A-Spot“ in der Universitätsbibliothek (UB) eröffnet. Dort hilft geschultes Personal Betroffenen in Akutsituationen gezielt weiter.
Sexuelle Belästigungen machen auch vor Universitäten nicht Halt. Um dagegen vorgehen und Übergriffe soweit wie möglich verhindern zu können, braucht es eine geschärfte Wahrnehmung. Aus diesem Grund hat der Arbeitskreis für Gleichbehandlungsfragen (AKGL) der Uni Graz in Zusammenarbeit mit der Frauenberatungsstelle TARA das Konzept „LUIS*A am Campus“ entwickelt. Tatkräftig unterstützt wurden sie dabei von der Koordinationsstelle für Geschlechterstudien und Gleichstellung, der ÖH und der Stadt Graz. Auch das Rektorat ermutigt Bedienstete, Teil der Initiative zu werden.
