About the researchers:

Florian Müller is a trained biophysicist and staff scientist at Institut Pasteur Paris. He develops integrated approaches combining fluorescence imaging, computerized image analysis, and mathematical modeling. The goal of his work is to contribute to a better understanding of biological processes, currently related to gene expression. He holds a Master of Science in Computational Physics from the University of Graz and a PhD from Graz University of Technology, and National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA. For his PhD, he researched the in-vivo binding properties of nuclear proteins by combing live-cell fluorescence microscopy and mathematical modeling For his PostDoc, he moved to Paris and worked a the  École normale supérieure and Institut Pasteur on gene regulation. He is currently a permanent staff scientist interested in tissue architecture. He is the leader of Alumni UNI Graz Chapter Paris.

Federica Caforio works at the Institute for Mathematics and Scientific Computing at the University of Graz. Her current focus lies in the personalisation of electro-mechanical models of cardiac function and circulation combining physics-based and data-driven methods. She holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Paris-Saclay University (France), where she was part of the Inria project-team M3disim, supervised by Dominique Chapelle and Sébastien Imperiale. Her PhD focused on the mathematical analysis and the numerical simulation of elastic wave propagation in soft tissues, with application to cardiac ultrasound elastography. Her master's degree is in Applied Mathematics from the University of Trento (Italy), during which she did a research stay at the MRI Institute in Detroit, USA, and an internship at the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) in Berlin (Germany).
