Micro-grants for researchers of all career stages to promote their visibility

With the micro-grants, the RCC aims to support researchers of all career stages to stay connected and visible, and to enhance their research activities. On July 22, 2026, the selection committee met for the fourth time since establishment of the Research Careers Campus to select grantees for our various micro funding schemes (individual and group funding).

Again, we received a staggering amount of applications! Which goes to show how active the researchers of Uni Graz are, and how well known the RCC funding schemes are getting to be.

This time, we were able to award grants to 76 applicants (both groups and individuals), in fields such as

  • Physics, Molecular Biosciences, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Psychology, Biology, Mathematics and Scientifics Computing
  • Slavic Studies, Romance Studies, Philosophy, Interdisciplinary Research on Aging and Care, Linguistics, German Studies, Ancient History
  • Public Law and Political Science, Law and Politics
  • Economics, Accounting Research
  • Sports and Movement Science, Environmental Systems Sciences, Geography and Regional Sciences, Educational Research and Teacher Education,
  • Religious Studies, and more!

Grantees will use the funds to organize academic events locally, and present their research to colleagues and conduct research activities abroad

  • such as in Sarajevo, Belgrade, Stockholm, Edinburgh, Sparks, Chicago, London, Wien, Toronto, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Basel, Warsaw, Accra, Kanazawa, Berlin, Delos, Shenzhen, Shantou, Loen, Leuven, Milano, Salzburg, Odense, Amsterdam, Delft, Prague, Munich, Padova, Guildford, Ghent, Palermo, Ljubljana, Oviedo, Dublin, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Friedrichshafen, Seoul, Los Angeles, New Hampshire, Grundlsee

Eligible for funding are 1) employees in research contracts and 2) researchers enrolled in a doctoral degree at the University of Graz.

Applications for RCC Grants can be made on an ongoing basis, the next committee meeting selecting grantees will be end of October (after the Oct 15 deadline).

With possible sector-wide budget cuts, the RCC funding schemes might possibly also be impacted, so be aware that reduced sums or a slightly reduced success rate is possible in the future.
